Vanity Redo

 Well, fingers crossed for our inspection tomorrow on the house we are buying... So as we hopefully get ready to move I have started updating some furniture to sell on Craigslist. This was my project I did yesterday. Luckily this was a $0 fix, since I already had everything. I love LOVE love this vanity but there will be no place for it at our new home. So sadly I decided to give it a fun face lift and place it up for sale.

With some sanding, painting (4 coats), and some sealant it is good to go! So if you know of anyone that would love a fun vanity or desk (the mirror can be easily removed) then tell them to go here and have a look.

New Bed

So in December as you know, we got a King Size bed. And to say we are in love is an understatement. However we laugh every night because for some reason with the bigger bed we are still on the edges while our two dogs who total in 8 pounds still take up the majority of the bed.

Well, final inspections for our new house are Wednesday and we hope to close on the 14th. So, I have started looking for new pieces to our new house. Below are some of my favorite beds that I love and still don't break the budget. (Click the image to enlarge the collage).

How To Paint Furniture

I get asked all the time best ways to paint furniture, this article is fantastic! And...saves me time on making an entire post.
The only thing I would add is, if your not using a glossy paint you do need to use a sealant when done.

One Thousand Four Hundred Sixty Days

Yes that is how many days Tanner and I have been married as of today... having a hard time doing the math? 4 YEARS! I could sit here and type all day talking about the past 4 years but only two words stand out, Blessed and Incredible! So I figure those take care of everything.

i HEART organizing

I love it! I mean seriously LOVE organizing. I think it is one of my favorite things to do. Tanner likes to mess with me and move stuff around just to see if I notice, and I always do! My students even laugh at me because they say they have never seen a more OCD art room. So anyways, as our new home is getting closer and closer I cannot wait to finally have room for all our stuff and ORGANIZE. I mean who needs money for paint? I need money for Tupperware. Rumor has it in August when the outlet mall opens up, there will be a Container Store nearby, and that will also be the time when I go bankrupt. (PS Teachers, they have 15% off card for all teachers)! Anyhoo... so I love to introduce you to new blogs I love. And here is another one, I Heart Organizing. Seriously, you will want to stay up all night reading. Okay so I will quit talking and leave you with a few pictures to entice you to head over to her blog.

"You Two Are Very Blessed"

Those were the words from our realtor on Sunday as we signed both contracts to go into contract on our house and our new house. We took a risk Friday night as we put ours up on the market. The story is this, we fell in love with a house on Tuesday and wrote up an offer Wednesday with a contingency that we sold our house. We went back and forth with them, but they refused to go into contract without us taking the contingency off. So finally Friday afternoon our incredible realtor Susan Conway with Keller Williams, encouraged us to take the risk and boy was she right! Sunday morning we got this phone call from her, "How soon can you get out of your house for a showing?" moments later we got another phone call "Don't get your hopes too up, but they are thinking they may put in an offer today." CRAZY! So hours later we got an incredible offer and couldn't turn it down. We called quickly over to the other house to make sure it was still available and our terms were still good minus the contingency, and they were! Since Wednesday I have not been able to sleep. At night, I just prayed and gave it to God. I just would repeat over and over, "Let your will be done."

So, here we are now in the phase of inspections and making sure everything is A-okay. I keep trying to get Tanner excited but he said he will be when we finish signing the papers at closing... oh Boys will be Boys...

We love this house. It is so cute with so much personality. We have been looking for a few months and we were finally talking about building. But, every time we went to newer homes they just weren't us. We needed that character and edge that we both love so much. Please don't get me wrong new houses are BEYOND gorgeous and are to DIE FOR! But we are dorks and just love the feel of "old world charm".  I mean have you seen the cars we drive?! You can't get more bizarre then an Orange Element and a convertible MINI.

So below are a tease of we hope our new house... Tanner would kill me if he knew I was posting these before closing... But like I said just a tease.
